Blakeley D. Matthews
Blakeley D. Matthews is a partner in the firm. His practice is concentrated in the areas of general civil litigation, including employer/employee relations, commercial litigation and commercial and business transactions. He also represents numerous professional and trade associations, serving as general counsel for business affairs. Mr. Matthews' reported cases include Doe v. HCA Health Services of Tennessee, Inc., 46 S.W.3d 191 (Tenn. 2001) ; O'Leary v. Johnson, 84 S.W.3d 584 (Tenn. Ct. App. 2002); and, Strategic Capital Resources, Inc. v. Dylan Tire Industries, LLC, 102 S.W.3d 603 (Tenn. Ct. App. 2002)
Mr. Matthews is a graduate of Centre College, Danville, Kentucky, and of the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he obtained his law degree, summa cum laude , and was named to the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He was also elected to membership in The Order of the Coif, the highest honor conferred upon graduates of the College of Law. He is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations. He is also a member of the American Bar Association Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability Law Committee. Mr. Matthews has served multiple terms as a member of the University of Tennessee College of Law Alumni Advisory Council. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Nashville Bar Foundation. He is also on The General Board and an active member of the Vine Street Christian Church.
