Rebecca Wells Demaree

Rebecca Wells Demaree is of counsel to the firm and practices in the areas of labor and employment law and professional liability in both state and federal courts.  Among other clients, she represents an array of international and local businesses in the management and training of their workforces.  She has tried numerous complex cases in state and federal courts with an emphasis on employment issues, wage and hour, federal and state regulatory appeals, employment contracts and non-compete agreements, as well as civil rights actions.

In addition to her management consultant and litigation practice, Ms. Demaree provides in-house, interactive training seminars for her clients in all aspects of employee/employer relations and has most recently developed an in-house training seminar in the area of racial and ethnic harassment.  Ms. Demaree also has been a featured speaker at professional conferences on topics such as compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act and Workers' Compensation issues.  She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Tennessee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. 

Ms. Demaree is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations where she has served on various committees.  Her published cases include Suggs v. Servicemaster, 71 F.3d 1228 (6th Cir. 1995);  Carr v. UPS, 955 S.W.2d 832 (Tenn. 1997);  Jackson v. City of Cookeville, 31 F.3d 1354 (6th Cir. 1994);  Bundren v. Peters, 732 F.Supp.1486 (E.D.Tenn. 1989).

Ms. Demaree and her husband, Lester, have resided in Rutherford County, Tennessee for the past nineteen years.
