Summer Associates
Cornelius & Collins has designed its summer associate program with the goal of providing our summer associates with an accurate picture of the firm and its atmosphere. Summer associates perform work in a wide array of substantive areas with most, if not all, of our attorneys. Additionally, the firm attempts to provide summer associates with work in any area in which they have stated an interest. Rather than designating a recruiting coordinator or one specific attorney through whom work assignments are channeled, the summer associates work directly with the attorneys assigning the work. This allows the summer associates to experience what it is like to be a new associate at the firm. In addition to being called upon to perform research and writing projects for the attorneys, our attorneys make it a point to give the summer associates a valuable glimpse into the practice of law by encouraging them to attend depositions, hearings, trials, appellate arguments, and interact with clients.
In addition to the work to be done, it is also important for attorneys and summer associates to spend time together in settings outside their work environment. To this end, the firm arranges numerous social events, formal and informal. Such events in the past have included our annual firm picnic, preseason Tennessee Titans football games, minor league baseball games, bowling, Nashville Bar Association softball games and golf tournaments, and dining at some of the fine restaurants in Nashville.
