Bio

Ben M. Rose is a partner at Cornelius & Collins, LLP.  As a general practitioner, Ben has focused over the last several years on practice areas which include business, administrative, and civil litigation.  He has had the pleasure of consulting with various clients on how to avoid lawsuits, grow their businesses, and advocate for their interests.

A native of Seymour, Tennessee, Ben obtained his law degree from the University of Tennessee, College of Law, where he was the recipient of the Charles H. Miller Award for Excellence in Civil Trial Advocacy and a member of the College Of Law Speaker Series, where he served as the Vice-Chair for Speakers.  Prior to attending law school, Ben obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and communications from The American University in Washington, D.C., where he graduated cum laude.

Ben first practiced law at Robertson, Ingram & Overbey in Knoxville which was founded by Claude Robertson after leaving the historic Fowler, Rountree law firm. Ben moved to the Middle Tennessee area following his marriage and began practicing at Cornelius & Collins, LLP. Prior to attending law school, Ben worked as a legislative assitant to two Tennessee members of the United States House of Representatives, Jimmy Quillen and Bill Jenkins. Ben served in a variety of roles as a legislative aide, including working with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) through the congressional TVA Caucus, handling legislative issues ranging from healthcare to agriculture, and campaigning.

In addition to maintaining an active general law practice, Ben has had the honor to serve in a number of teaching positions over the years. These include acting as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tennessee, College of Law, and as an instructor for the Paralegal Studies Certificate Program through the University of Tennessee's Professional Development Program in Nashville. He also endeavors to one day teach a class at the college level on Congress and Legislative Behavior drawing upon his previous experiences as a lawyer and legislative staff in the United States Congress.

Ben's pro bono activities are numerous and include, among other things, coaching the mock trial team at Ravenwood High School in Williamson County where he resides. Since he began coaching in 2004, Ben's high school mock trial teams have won the District 4 competition and competed at the State competition in 2006, 2011, 2012, and counting.

Ben is married to his wife, Shalini, who is also a lawyer. He enjoys a number of hobbies, including gardening, listening to good music, and traveling.
