Bio

Cole Dowsley joined Cornelius & Collins, LLP in 2005 as an associate. Since that time, his law practice has focused on the representation of businesses and individuals in civil cases in state and federal court. His practice includes handling trials and appeals, in addition to mediations and arbitrations.

Cole handles a variety of civil litigation with an emphasis in tort, commercial, and construction litigation. With respect to construction matters, Cole has handled construction related disputes involving breach of contract, construction defect claims, warranty disputes, insurance coverage questions, lien issues, and collection matters. He has represented numerous participants in the construction industry, including general contractors, various subcontractor trades, property owners and developers. In addition to construction matters, Cole has significant experience with respect to insurance defense litigation, professional (medical, legal and accounting) malpractice defense, entertainment litigation, and general business litigation. He has also developed a practice that includes giving advice and counsel to small businesses with respect to general corporate matters, contract negotiation and transactions.

Cole received his law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he served on the Editorial Board of the Tennessee Law Review. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting.
 
Cole was a summer associate at Cornelius & Collins in 2004. He recently served on the firm's recruiting committee. He lives in Franklin with his wife, Nicole.
