Summer Associate
Program

Cornelius & Collins traditionally hires associate attorneys through its summer program. The firm's summer associate program provides second-year law students with an unique opportunity to experience the firm. The purpose of the summer associate program is to closely reflect the experience of a young associate at the firm. In addition to research and drafting assignments, summer associates at Cornelius & Collins regularly participate in a variety of litigation matters with the firm's attorneys, including trials, arbitrations, mediations, depositions and motion hearings. Summer associates are given a wide variety of work experience with as many of the firm's attorneys as possible. Summer associates also perform work in a wide array of substantive areas with most, if not all, of the firm's attorneys. The firm's goal is to give summer associates a realistic and accurate view of practicing law at Cornelius & Collins.

The Cornelius & Collins summer program is open to second-year law students. The firm typically participates in on-campus interview programs at The University of Tennessee, Vanderbilt University and the University of Memphis. The number of summer associates that are hired is determined by the expected hiring needs for future associates. The most competitive candidates are law students that have strong academic credentials, solid writing and communication skills, and most importantly, a sincere interest in litigation.
